Saying farewell to Tako Torta

Saying Goodbye to Tako Torta

After five years of tacos, tortas, margaritas and plenty of good times, Tako Torta will officially close its doors at Bakery Square on August 15.

Since opening in 2021, Tako Torta has been a go-to spot for lunch breaks, happy hours, dinner with friends and everything in between. From tacos and tortas to bowls, chips and guacamole, nachos and margaritas, there was always something worth stopping in for.

But Tako was more than just a place to grab a bite. Over the years, it became part of the Bakery Square experience and the many moments that bring our community together. Most recently, Tako helped us celebrate Pride at Bakery Square with an afternoon filled with food, drinks and plenty of fun.

There are plenty of things we'll miss, but a few favorites definitely stand out: margaritas on the patio, sharing chips and guacamole with the table, ordering way too many tacos and somehow still finding room for nachos. We'll miss the colorful atmosphere, the lively patio and having a spot for an easy lunch, after-work drink or spontaneous taco run just steps away.

And, of course, everyone has their own Tako order they'll be sad to say goodbye to. Whether you were loyal to the same tacos every visit, always ordered a torta or mainly came for the margaritas, consider this your sign to stop by one more time before August 15.

While we're sad to see Tako go, there is something new to look forward to. Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group plans to transform the space into a new American dining concept, expected to open in February 2027. The new restaurant will feature a wood-fired grill and a menu of classics like steaks, burgers, hand-cut fries, French onion soup and Caesar salad, paired with craft cocktails and an extensive American whiskey collection.

For now, we're raising one last margarita to Tako Torta. Thank you for five memorable years, countless tacos, patio happy hours and plenty of great memories at Bakery Square.

We'll miss you, Tako!
