You're invited to our seventh exhibit at
THE PORTAL Art Gallery at Bakery Square as we present new works by Emily Krill. Light bites, drinks, and music will make it a memorable event.
Through her artwork, Emily wants to bring back what has been lost to time. She constructs collages out of paper ephemera from the 1800s to the 2000s. Ledgers, checks, documents, and letters; at one time, these papers were very important to the people who owned them. Although these older methods of recording and tracking the details of daily life have become obsolete, they still have a tiny spark left in them. She adds vibrant colors and whimsical patterns to these mundane materials to create something altogether new. Her hope is that her art elicits positive feelings in viewers. You live with and look at art every day. Emily believes that it should make you feel happy.
